This story had to be read about three times by me before I understood what they were proposing. The debate about it should be legal not to feed Alzheimer patients as they had chosen this voluntary. In this study the scientists discover that the Red Wine component improves memory function and…….mood function in rats but we already knew that the latter worked for most humans right?

Researchers have found that singing sessions, with hits like from the Sound of Music, are helpful. Specially the people who sing along with the session show an improvement in their memory skills. Looks like an easy enough activity for Alzheimer homes to set up.

Canada warns about Donepezil, an Alzheimer drug

The prescription medication has been linked to a muscle breakdown called rhabdomyolysis and the neurological disorder NMS (neuroleptic malignant syndrome) in some patients.
Donepezil, sold under the brand names Aricept and Aricept RDT as well as generic equivalents, is used to treat the symptoms of mild to severe Alzheimer’s disease.
