Researchers discovered that consumption of cocoa polyphenols reduces the formation of harmful proteins, including beta-amyloid and abnormal tau aggregates. Such proteins are known to accumulate in the brain and cause damage. The accumulation results in loss of synapses and hence makes the connections between nerve cells dysfunctional.

Alzheimer’s care, there is an app for that

If you care for an Alzheimer’s patient you will recognize this situation; you have visited your mom with Alzheimer’s and after your visit your sister visits her. She asks mom; “Has my brother been visiting you lately” and the mom will most passionately say things like: “your brother!!! haven’t heard from him in months!!”…. but you just left the facility.

Now there is an app where families and caregivers can keep track of who has been to see the patients and….. to verify the information you have been told during your visit.
